The Rebel Óg Coaching kicking skills competition regional finals commenced on Saturday 17th October with very high standards across all age groups. The competition is backed by Co Op Superstores and clubs were invited to host internal competitions in advance of regional finals where they had 3 players kicking for points of right and left feet on the run.
Conor Counihan, Cork Football Project Manager was delighted with how the competition went noting “the scores from across the venues today were very high and is testament to the huge work that is going in at club level by coaches and players to improve the basic skills of the game”. Counihan was relieved the competitions started today given how much doom and gloom currently prevails around Covid 19 and said that “all participants were delighted to get out on the pitch and test themselves in competition”.
He thanked our GDA’s for coordinating venues and ensuring the activities were conducted safely and within the guidelines set out by the GAA Covid advisory group.
