Blitz Finals

The GAA Monster Blitz Football Finals take place on this Saturday 8th October.

The games provide a  conclusion to a season of  blitzes which commenced in March.

The blitz finals will see fé 7, fé 8 & fé 9 club teams county wide participate in games this Saturday in Clonakilty, Bandon, Eire Óg, Bishopstown, Mayfield, Lisgould, Cloyne, Doneraile and St Michaels.

Between 10am and 12pm, there will be 2,500 boys playing football. Games will be played at 7 a side and the structure allows small clubs compete with bigger clubs (as the big clubs enter multiple teams).

The emphasis is on fun and participation for all boys which provides the perfect platform for the players to develop the basic skills of the game in 3 games over the 2 hours.

The finals weekend will see senior inter county players present medals to the players as a badge of honour for completing their 2016 blitz programme.

The hurling equivalent will take place on October 15th with a similar programme planned.
